Henbit Deadnettle (Lamium amplexicaule)

Henbit Deadnettle belongs to the Family Lamiaceae. It is a hairy annual, which grows to 30 cm tall. The leaves are rounded to oval in shape and they have blunt-toothed margins (1). The flowers are pinkish-purple with a straight corolla-tube (2) which is about 12 to 14 mm long (3). The upper lip of the corolla is two-lobed (1).
Henbit Deadnettle is an annual plant. It blooms from December to June (2).
Henbit Deadnettle is a weed found within cultivated lands. It can be found in fallow fields and wastelands. It is also found in vineyards and olive groves (2).
Lamium amplexicaule is found in the Mediterranean basin (3).
